Memorial graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Randy Shannon officiating.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Marshall Cumberland Presbyterian Church or Marshall Senior Center in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born February 24, 1927, in Blackburn, MO, she was the daughter of the late Henry Christian Norden and Olga M. Hoelscher Norden.  Frances was raised in the Blackburn area where she was a graduate of Blackburn High School and a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.  On July 1, 1946, she married F. Arnold Herrmann who preceded her in death on February 11, 2004.  In addition to being a homemaker for her family, Frances worked in the business office of the Marshall State School and as a secretary for Malta Bend R-5 School.

After moving to Marshall she transferred her membership to Marshall Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was an active member.  At the church she was a member of The Day Circle and had served as both president and secretary, and also took care of the weekly records for Sunday school.  Frances also was a charter member of Malta Bend American Legion Auxiliary and a member of The Union Club.  As an active member of the community she was proud to have volunteered for the Marshall Senior Center and Nicholas Beazley Aviation Museum.  Her greatest joy in life was her family.  Frances always said that her greatest joy in life was being with all of her family and being able to cook and bake all of their favorite dishes.

Survivors include three children: Frank Herrmann (Kathleen) of LaSal, Utah, Nancy Gilbert (Norm) of Sedalia and Jeanie Ebers (Randy) of Marshall; four grandchildren: Chris Herrmann (Libby), Sarah Palmer (Brian), Mike Gilbert (Erin) and Matthew Herrmann (Andi); a stepdaughter, Brenda Wormsley; a step-grandson, John Wormsley (Heather); five great-grandchildren: Madison, Audrey, Redding, Abigail and Jude; three step-great-grandchildren: Elijah, Lydia and Moriah; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen Harrison and Jean Jenner; and two of her very closest lifelong friends, Gladys Gessling and Imogene Chevalier.
