Phyllis Raylene Cornine, 84, of Nelson, MO, died Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Travis Farr and William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Nelson Baptist Church, United Daughters of the Confederacy or Marshall Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. Born February 26, 1940, in Nelson, MO, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Bryan Dollard and Martha Lillian Townsend Dollard. She was a graduate of Nelson High School, attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar and graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. On November 11, 1967, in Nowata, OK, she married Leroy Wayne Cornine who survives of the home. She taught in Bevier, Malta Bend and Kansas City, MO. She was a member of Nelson Baptist Church where she loved teaching Sunday school. She was also a member of Marshall Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy Robert E. Lee Chapter 552, Daughters of 1812, Daughters of the American Colonists, and The Huguenots. She loved genealogy, community history, working the elections and traveling, especially to New Orleans. Her passion was her family. She was proud to be married for 56 years to Leroy and her family reenacted the elopement of Leroy and Raylene on their 50th wedding anniversary.

Survivors include her husband, Leroy; two children, Joleigh Cornine of Sedalia, MO and Aaron Cornine (Joyce) of Marshall; one stepson, Kenneth Wayne Cornine of Marshall; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shery Gochenour of Marshall.
