The Pettis County Commission, in collaboration with the Road & Bridge Department and the Smithton R-6 School District, announced two initiatives to combat littering and illegal dumping. Led by Commissioner Israel Baeza, the ‘Keep Pettis County Beautiful’ initiative aims to educate and engage the community in responsible waste disposal. It includes the Adopt-A-Road program, with the Smithton High School Science Club leading by example. Additionally, the ‘Litter Free School Zone’ initiative fosters cleanliness within educational spaces, starting with the Smithton School District.
