The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works elected new officers during its meeting on Thursday, May 16.

The board elected a president, vice president, and secretary to serve for the remainder of 2024.

The board elected Chuck Hines as President, Ken Bryant as Vice President, and Steve Mills as Secretary.

In other news, the board approved a proposal for the water treatment of the circulating water system and the closed water system on two of MMU’s units. Jarad Muller reported that water treatment is necessary after seeing the condition of the circulating water pumps and coolers on Units 10 and 11.

The board accepted the proposal from Garratt-Callahan Company in the amount of $36,553.20 for the water treatment services. A total of three proposals were received, but Muller said that Garratt-Callahan Co. has the best understanding of MMU’s water treatment needs.
