
Sara Lakenburger, 83, of Marshall, MO, died Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall with Fr. Francis Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or Community Food Pantry in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born October 11, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Emmett Matthis Keller and Valeska Evelyn Sparks Keller. Sara lived in Marshall all of her life and was a graduate of Mercy Academy. On September 9, 1961, she married David Lakenburger who preceded her in death on March 23, 2022. In addition to being a homemaker for her family, Sara had a career as an accountant at various local accounting firms. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include four children: Sandra Lakenburger of Raymore, Gary Lakenburger of Tetonia, ID, Susan Conaway (Ronald) of rural Marshall and Glenn Lakenburger (Shelly) of Smithville; five grandchildren: Zachary Bishop (Rachel), Kaleb Bishop (Alyssa James), Paige Lakenburger, Jacob Lakenburger and Addison Lakenburger; one sister, Lynne Hein of Springfield, IL; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.
