
The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 5-4 in ten innings Sunday, June 2.
Both teams traded runs early, and went to their bullpens after five innings. Nolan Gorman hit the go-ahead RBI single in the tenth, giving St. Louis the lead. Ryan Helsley picked up the save with a scoreless frame.
Gorman and Alec Burleson both homered and combined to drive in all five runs for St. Louis.
Lance Lynn went four innings and gave up four unearned runs. John King claimed the win with a scoreless ninth frame.
St. Louis is now 28-29 on the season, and are seven games back from the Brewers for the NL Central lead.
