
Several city councils and boards of aldermen will have their regular meetings Monday evening.
The Concordia Board of Aldermen will recognize the state champion Lady Orioles softball team with a proclamation during their regular meeting at 5 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Concordia Community Center. The board will also receive updated proposals on security cameras and discuss the schedule of the city’s police department. Potential funding for community center maintenance is also slated for new business.
The Town of Carrollton will meet at 6 p.m. to consider a sewer line repair, and the purchase of aviation fuel for the municipal airport.
Also at 6 p.m., the Higginsville Board of Aldermen will convene, with committee appointments and a request to close 31st Street between Route 13 and Cypress on July 4th for the city’s Independence Day Celebration.
Sedalia’s city council will meet at 6:30 p.m. to consider several ordinances amending city personnel regulations. Council members will also review several proposed amendments to the 2024-25 budget, an ordinance on whether to adopt certain international codes related to construction and maintenance of buildings, and an annexation request for land along Route YY. From the public works committee, the council is expected to consider an ordinance authorizing an agreement with Sedalia Schools for a paving project, an ordinance authorizing a preliminary design-build agreement with Burns and McDonnell for the North and Central Wastewater Treatment Plants facility plan, and an amendment to the Prairie Hollow Water and Sewer Main extension.
And the Boonville City Council will begin their meeting at 7 p.m., with the second reading of a bill approving the final site plan for a storage facility under unfinished business. The council will also consider street and parking lot closures for the upcoming Heritage Days, and a resolution approving an agreement with AllState Consultants for engineering services. Prior to the meeting, Boonville will hold an evidentiary hearing for a dangerous building at 6:30, focused on a building at 818 Sixth Street.
