Work is expected to begin this week on replacing the boat ramps on the two lakes in Moberly’s Rothwell Park.

Parks and Recreation Director Troy Bock says crews will first rebuild the ramp for Water Works Lake.

The project also includes a new parking lot for three trucks and trailers, as well as four additional vehicles across the road from the Rothwell Lake boat ramp. Bock says the contractor has 160 contract days to complete the project.

After completion of the boat ramps, Bock says the process will begin to select a vendor for kayak rentals.

Access to the lakes at Rothwell Park for fishing and trail users will be disrupted during construction of the boat ramps.
