Marshall’s School Board closed the books on the 2023-24 school year with amendments to the outgoing year’s budget while adopting next year’s budget.
The board voted Tuesday evening to a series of fund transfers and set the 2024 budget at the same amount as the previous year. Superintendent Caleb Petet credits the district’s finance team for ensuring that Marshall Schools is on sound financial footing.
Petet also presented the attendance summary, which showed an average attendance of 93 percent. The report included a total of disciplinary events reported over the past year, which dropped 52 percent from a year ago to 1829 events. Petet says the district is pleased with the reduction.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, board members approved final bus routes for the next school year, along with updates to Marshall’s handbooks and job descriptions.
