A two-vehicle collision in western Johnson County sent a pair of residents to the hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that around 5:40 p.m. Thursday, a Jeep driven by 33-year-old Taylor Hazel of Holden went north across the westbound lanes of Route 50 at the intersection with Northwest 1201st Road. That’s when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a westbound car driven by 26-year-old Yu-Tong Wang of Pennsylvania. Hazel’s vehicle went off the roadway, striking a stop sign.

Hazel suffered moderate injuries, as did a passenger in Wang’s vehicle, 26-year-old Wan-Hsuan Huang of Warrensburg. The two were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Wang had no reported injuries. Troopers say that Hazel was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
