The Moberly City Council approved a motion to begin a water main replacement project on Johnson Street during its meeting Tuesday, September 3.
The city has been experiencing issues with the water main on Johnson Street. City Manager Michael Bugalski says the best course of action was for the city to fully replace the main.
The city will have to pay about $19,000 in materials from Core and Main LP for this project.
The council also approved a request to close the 500th Block of West Reed Street for a Bed Racing event on November 30. Bugalski says the city used to have an annual bed racing event several years ago, and this request was to bring it back. All the proceeds from the event will be given to Toys for Tots.
