A Smithton resident sustained moderate injury after she was struck by an SUV in the city Monday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 25-year-old Chella Washburn was walking along Washington Street when the SUV driven by a McGirk resident made a left turn onto Walnut, striking Washburn. She was taken to a Columbia hospital for treatment. The SUV’s driver had no reported injuries and was able to drive their vehicle from the scene.
