Marshall High School is getting in the spirit to celebrate Homecoming on Friday, September 27, as the Owls host the Kirksville Tigers for week five of the High School Football season.
Students in the district started celebrating with Spirit Week, having different themes for each day of the week. Each school in the district will have pep rallies Friday morning and release students early to prepare for the Homecoming Parade, which begins at 2 p.m.
Floats in the parade will line up on Miami Street and march down to the Marshall Square. MPS Superintendent Caleb Petet says a lot of work goes into making this possible.
The festivities all culminate in the game itself, which begins at 7 p.m. Following the game, Marshall High School will be hosting its Homecoming Dance.
Petet also encourages students to be safe and responsible during the celebrations.
