
Maurice Eugene Moore, 91, of Marshall, MO, was called home to Heaven on Saturday October 12, 2024, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Marshall with Rev. Chuck Riddle and Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Born April 4, 1933, in Marshall, he was the son of the late John Wesley Moore and Hallie Van Crawford Moore. Maurice was born, raised, and lived his entire life in Saline County. He married Joyce Roy Walker on July 16, 1977, at First Baptist Church in Marshall. Maurice served in the National Guard, was a Sergeant for the Marshall Police Department, and retired as the supervisor for the Saline County Highway Department. Maurice had a passion for automobiles of all types, riding motorcycles, boating, watching airplanes, Saturday coffee with his friends, building and renovating homes, and was a Jack-Of-All-Trades. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Marshall where he had been involved with bus ministry, Meals on Wheels, and Sunday school.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; three children, Janice Moore Harlow (John), Linda Moore (Don Langan), and Rodney Moore (Sandy), all of Marshall; three grandchildren, Julie Harlow Gilpin (John) of Slater, John Harlow (Stephanie) of Moyock, NC and Kathy Moore Samson (Justin) of Marshall; 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren (with one on the way); along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
He is also survived by two step-children, Doug Walker (Leigh) of Wichita, KS and Michelle Sellers (Jeff) of Columbia; 11 step-grandchildren: Brittany Hicks, Kindyl Elliott, Jacob Diehm, Shante Walker, Olivia Diehm Hussey, Faith Bray, Levi Older, Peyton Older, Camrym Ottoway, Seth Walker and Tatum Walker, as well as several step great-grandchildren and other family members.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Betty Carver, and three brothers, J.W. Moore, Clyde Moore, and Robert Moore.
