Central Missouri Honor Flight (CMHF) will be flying a passenger list of all Vietnam veterans on Honor Flight 70 scheduled Wednesday, October 30. These eighty-seven veterans will travel to see the memorials in Washington, D.C. dedicated to their military service-and for long-awaited closure.

The veterans, eighty-four men and three women, represent twenty-seven Missouri counties and one Illinois county. The list also includes two sets of brothers as well as a husband and wife attending together.

During the flight, veterans will enjoy a tour of the WWII Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Battle of Iwo Jima Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. At the Tomb of the Unknowns, our honor flight veterans are quietly and respectfully acknowledged during the Changing of the Guard.

CMHF’s 70th mission departs Columbia 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, and returns at 9:30 p.m. that same night at the Columbia Courtyard by Marriott. As always, traveling with them will be a medical team as well as guardians who assist veterans with wheelchairs, walkers, oxygen, and companionship on the flight.

Honor flights are provided at no cost to the veterans.
