The Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, November 7.

The ceremony will begin a $1,729,300 project to build a new 1,600-niche columbarium wall. The existing wall in the cemetery is expected to reach capacity in November 2025.

This project is funded through the Veterans Health and Care Fund and the Veterans Commission Capital Fund. The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m.

The cemetery is located at 20109 Business Highway 13 in Higginsville.
