The Missouri Supreme Court decided to retransfer the lawsuit between Saline County Assessor Jessica Goodman and the Saline County Commission to the Western District Missouri Court of Appeals.
The court released its opinion on Tuesday, November 5. Arguments were made back in September to Judge Kelly Rose.
The court decided to retransfer the case, stating “this Court does not have exclusive appellate jurisdiction because Goodman did not allege section 48.020.1 or any other statute was constitutionally invalid.”
The court says that because this case involves no properly raised claims of any statutory invalidity, it must be retransferred to the court of appeals.
KMMO reached out to Goodman and the County Commission, who both declined to comment at this time.
