The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved the appointment of a new Ward 3 board member during its meeting on Monday, November 4.

Mayor Donald Knehans appointed Galen Tuney to the position after the previous member left Ward 3. Aldermen approved the appointment.

In other news, the board established April 8, 2025 as the Municipal Election date. The board then approved a street closure request from the Chamber of Commerce to close Main Street from 15th to 22nd Street for the annual Christmas Parade on Thursday, December 5. The parade will be from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m.
