The Mizzou Tigers showed little fatigue in their third game in six days, dispatching the Lindenwood Lions with a 81-61 win Wednesday, Nov. 27 at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.

Mizzou struggled with turnovers early and needed a 12-2 run at the end of the first half to take a 37-27 lead into the locker room. The Tigers extended their lead during the second half, getting the lead to 18 halfway, aided by ten points from Marques Warrick and 12 from Trent Pierce, including a pair of slam dunks. The two came off the bench, as did top scorer Tony Perkins who posted 18 points, including seven of nine free throws. Warrick added 17 points, including three of Mizzou’s five three-pointers. Mizzou’s bench accounted for 64 points in the game. The Tigers finished with 50 percent shooting while keeping the Lions to 36 percent from the field.

Play paused with 10:16 left in the first half, when Caleb Grill suffered a head and neck injury while reaching for a defensive rebound. He was taken to University Hospital as a precaution.

Mizzou are now 6-1 and prepare to host the California Golden Bears on Tuesday for the SEC/ACC Challenge. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. on KMMO-AM 1300.
