The City of Sedalia is weighing their options following a court order over the weekend denying their request for a new trial in their lawsuit against the Pettis County Commission.

City Administrator Kelvin Shaw says they still disagree with the finding of Circuit Judge Stacey Lett that the city didn’t provide substantial evidence that the commission violated state law in their dispute over safety inspections at the Pettis County Jail.

Shaw says that while the original issue is behind them, the city still has issues with the commission to resolve.

The city had motioned for a new trial in September, after the initial ruling was published in August by a Johnson County court.
