The Moberly City Council approved two ordinances Monday night addressing issues that have emerged along alleyways in the city’s downtown area.

City manager Michael Bugalski says one new ordinance will limit how long a vehicle can park in a city alleyway.

The council also adopted an ordinance adding requirements for who is allowed to place a dumpster in the downtown district.

Also at Monday night’s meeting, the Moberly city council approved a resolution authorizing emergency repairs by Flynn Drilling to a recovery pump at the wastewater treatment plant, and authorized an amendment to the contract with Bartlett and West for expanded services in the construction of facilities at the future Kiwanis Park. The council also approved the appointment of Michael Skubic to the council upon the resignation of Austin Kyser, who was recently elected as Randolph County’s Western District Commissioner.
