The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for Raymore man after he stole a skid steer in November.

According to a probable cause statement, a Rental Coordinator in Sedalia reported that a male subject missing his right hand, later identified as Matthew Riddle, rented the skid steer using another person’s identity and a business account for a construction company in Columbia on November 18. A Sales Representative for the construction company later learned of the transaction and reported not authorizing the rental.

The skid steer’s internal GPS pinged the vehicle in Lee’s Summit, where it was recovered. Authorities arrested and spoke to the male subject who was transporting the vehicle, who said he was hauling the vehicle for Riddle after meeting him in Sedalia.

Riddle has previous convictions for domestic assault, stealing, and outstanding failure to appear warrants.

Riddle has been charged with a felony for stealing contents $25,000 or more.
