The St Louis Blues’ three-game skid was stopped Monday, Dec. 23 by a three-goal performance by Dylan Holloway, as the Blues shut out the Detroit Red Wings 4-0 at Little Caesars Arena.

Holloway claimed his first goal with 3:45 remaining in the first period, top-shelving his slap shot. His second goal came nearly eight minutes into the second on a snap shot, and then he achieved his career-first hat trick with four minutes remaining, beating veteran winger Patrick Kane to the empty net. Alexandre Texier also scored for the Blues, while Colton Parayko recorded assists on two of Holloway’s goals.

Jordan Binnington recorded 19 saves to maintain the clean sheet. Despite having a slight disadvantage on faceoffs won, the Blues had a 5-2 advantage on takeaway and delivered 21 hits to the Wings’ 13.
