Six Saline County elected officials took their oaths of office Tuesday, Dec. 31 during a brief ceremony in the Saline County Courthouse.

Five office holders won re-election in November’s general election: public administrator Paula Barr, treasurer Jared Brewer, northern district commissioner Stephanie Gooden, assessor Jessica Adcock Goodman, and coroner Willie Harlow. Daniel Kirchhoff is now sheriff, succeeding Cindi Mullins. All six signed their oath certificates during the ceremony presided by county clerk Brittni Burton.

Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner was unable to take part in the ceremony, and will be sworn in at a future meeting of the Saline County Commission. Josh Taylor was also recognized for his election as circuit court judge; according to Burton, Taylor was formally taking his oath of office during a similar ceremony in Lafayette County. Taylor succeeds Dennis Rolf on the bench.
