Saline County Career Center DECA was among 1,100 chapters that achieved Thrive Level recognition during the 2024-2025 school year and will be commended at DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC) held April 26-29, 2025, in Orlando, Florida.
Each fall, DECA offers four campaigns for chapters to complete as part of their program of leadership for the year. These campaigns are designed to grow membership engagement and build lasting partnerships within the school and local community. Chapters that achieve Thrive Level receive a commemorative pennant, flag and plaque. The chapters also have an opportunity to participate in ICDC. In order to receive Thrive Level recognition a chapter must complete at least two campaigns. The SCCC DECA Chapter completed four out of four chapter campaigns, which include the community service campaign, ethical leadership campaign, promotional campaign and the membership campaign, which challenged the chapter to attain two of three goals: recruit 20 professional members, recruit 20 alumni members or increase student membership by 20 more members from the previous school year. This is the seventh year in a row the chapter has achieved all four campaigns.
This year, the chapter successfully completed several campaigns aimed at promoting community spirit and involvement. They focused on increasing awareness among young voters regarding the voting process, ballot issues, and career development projects, ensuring that their members are not only engaged but also informed. Additionally, they undertook multiple projects centered on creating integrated marketing campaigns for local businesses and organizations, further enhancing community engagement and support.
