Concordia’s bid for a second straight softball state title will have a slightly different final destination this spring.
The MSHSAA Board of Directors voted last week to relocate this spring’s softball state championships to Meador Park, a few miles south of their original location at the Killian Sports Complex. Renovations are underway at Killian, prompting the move. Meador Park will host state softball for the first time, but has previously hosted state baseball championships, including from 2007 to 2012.
The Concordia Orioles won the program’s first state title last season, posting a 30-2 record en route to the Class One crown. Lone Jack finished third in Class Two.
