
The Saline County Commission approved the 2025 Budget as presented during its session on Wednesday, February 12.
The budget has been available for public review since late-January. This year’s budget is balanced at $41,060,465, with General Revenues and Fund 10 set at $6,563,644. Some of the key items in Fund 10 include Contingency Reserves at $300,000, MSDC dues at $25,000, and RPC dues at $4,000. The Saline County Justice Facility Fund was also set at $3,446,928.
The budget also includes funds for the wastewater treatment facility and the welcome center, which are partially funded with EDA and EPA grants, as well as sales tax revenue approved in 2018. Presiding Commissioner Becky Plattner said the commission received no public comments regarding the budget since it became available for review.
In other news, commissioners approved the Emergency Management Contracts from the Village of Arrow Rock, the City of Malta Bend, and the City of Emma. The commission also approved the part-time hire of Jesse Coslet to the county sheriff’s office.
