With Pettis County among those set to go under a Winter Storm Warning on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, the City of Sedalia will activate its snow emergency ordinance Monday afternoon.
The city’s snow routes will go into effect at noon Monday, meaning that residents along those roadways will need to move any parked vehicles. Those left on snow routes during a snow emergency may be subject to fines or towing. Public works crews are also advising that with extreme cold temperatures expected, salt and de-icing chemicals will be less effective, making it difficult to keep roads clear.
