Monday evening’s Sedalia City Council meeting will open with a public hearing on a proposed annexation along Route B.
The proposed annexation is that of a parcel recently purchased by the Sedalia School District. The district made the request in late January after action taken by the school board. A hearing had been scheduled prior to the previous city council meeting; however, after public notice was printed calling for the hearing to take place Feb. 18, a training session with the Missouri Municipal League resulted in the council instead meeting on Feb. 19. The rescheduled public hearing will open tomorrow’s city council meeting at 6:30 p.m.
Also at tomorrow night’s meeting, the council will receive a progress report from Ann Graff of The Embassy on a project to repair the homes involved in their drug abuse intervention program. The council will consider a pair of grant applications for the police department, and a request to cover the cost and maintenance of reinstalling the Bichsel Clock downtown.
Sedalia’s School Board is also meeting Monday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m., at the Heckart Performing Arts Center, where several career and technical education program evaluations will be considered by the board.
