The Marshall High School Speech and Debate Squad competed at the Missouri District Speech Tournament at State Fair Community College this past weekend, qualifying four students for the State Tournament in April.

Four MHS students qualified in five categories. Those students include Jasmine Davis placing 4th in Dramatic, Caleb Wagner placing 4th in Humorous, Maya Mackey placing 4th in Oratory, and Brianna Carrillo taking 2nd in Poetry and 1st in Prose.

Other results include:
-Maya Mackey placing 10th in Radio Speaking,
-Ivan Lin placing 9th in Radio Speaking,
-Bella Downs finishing in 7th for Storytelling,
-Jasmine Davis placing 9th in Prose,
-Ruby Jaramillo placing 5th in Oratory,
-Elizabeth Granillo taking 8th in Humorous,
-and Jasmine Davis taking 5th in Poetry.

The next tournament for the team will be the District Debate Tournament on Thursday, March 6.
