Two Saline County residents were taken to a Columbia hospital after their vehicles collided on a county roadway Monday, March 3.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred after 2:30 p.m. on Klondike Road about a half-mile north of Route NN, or about six miles southeast of Miami. Troopers say that a southbound SUV driven by a 57-year-old man from Sweet Springs crossed the center of the roadway and struck a car driven by a 39-year-old woman from Miami. Both drivers suffered moderate injuries. The Miami driver was flown to a Columbia hospital, while the Sweet Springs driver was taken by ambulance. Troopers say the Sweet Springs driver had not been wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
