A house fire southeast of Warrensburg on Sunday, March 9 resulted in four injuries, including to a pair of firefighters.

The Johnson County Fire Protection District responded around 10:30 a.m. to a house fire along SE 251 Road, with reports that its occupants were still in the building. Firefighters arrived to find the house “heavily involved in flames”, which they were able to bring under control in about an hour.

The two men in the home were able to exit the home before firefighters arrived. Both were taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. Two firefighters who entered the home to tackle the blaze also reported injuries, and were treated at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshal.
