The Missouri Department of Transportation is closing a section of Route 127 this week for ditch cleaning.

A MoDOT spokesman tells KMMO News that the highway will close this week at the Salt Pond Creek, north of Sweet Springs, when crews are present. The work will take place from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day until Friday, March 14. Drivers will need to find an alternate route.

MoDOT crews are also preparing for a pair of closures next week along a southern Saline County highway. Two culverts along Route K between Interstate 70 and the Pettis County line are set for replacement next Monday and Tuesday. All projects are weather permitting.
