The Cairo Bearcats are one win away from a state title.
The Bearcats took care of Rock Port 56-46 on Friday, March 14 to clinch their second straight trip to the Class One girls title game, set for Saturday at 8 p.m. They’ll face Chadwick, who defeated Walnut Grove 48-40 to book their spot in the game. Chadwick’s boys are also one step away from a state title, as their bid for a repeat championship was boosted by a 60-30 victory over Wheatland. They’ll face St Elizabeth, after Braymer were unable to take down the Hornets 78-63.
The Tipton Cardinals are also playing early Saturday for a third-place title, after the girls fell 56-50 to St Vincent of Perryville in their Class Two semifinal. The Cardinals will face Norwood to tip the day’s action off at 10 a.m., while St Vincent battle defending champions Skyline for the Class Two title. Skyline defeated Norwood 42-33.

Several boys’ quarterfinals from Friday night in Classes Four through Six were postponed to today because of severe weather. That includes Mexico’s tilt against Vashon in Class Four. The updated boys bracket is as follows:
