Activities directors and school administrators across the state have approved ten changes to the by-laws and constitution of the Missouri State High School Activities Association.

MSHSAA announced Thursday, April 24 that 69 percent of schools voted in favor of a constitutional amendment that would include the Association of Classical Christian Schools on the list of bodies that can accredit a school, a requirement for MSHSAA membership. Schools also voted to add girls’ flag football and unified track and field as emerging sports, and adjusted the fall non-school competition exception while adding one for girls soccer in the spring. Wrestling schools voted to increase the seasonal match limit for an individual wrestler from 45 bouts to 50. A by-law amendment allowing appeals for specific ejections was also approved by an eight-to-one margin.

The ballot results are expected to be certified at the MSHSAA Board of Directors meeting in June.
