The Odessa Board of Aldermen is meeting tonight to accept the results of the April Municipal Election and elect a new board president.

According to election results from Lafayette County Clerk Jessica White, Karla Polson and Mike Plachte secured re-election to the board without any opposition on the ballot. In the race for the position in Ward 3, Bruce Whitsitt narrowly beat out incumbent Bob Carey by six votes. All three will be sworn in for two-year terms.

The board will also consider a bill approving a chapter in the city’s Code of Ordinances relating to Planned Unit Developments.

Aldermen will then consider an appointment to the Finance Committee.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Community Building, located at 601 West Main Street in Odessa.
