Travel through the northern part of Glasgow is limited to one lane as the Missouri Department of Transportation has begun a project to replace a bridge.
The project to replace the bridge that carries Route 5 over Bear Creek began Monday, and is expected to take at least four months to complete. The current bridge is reduced to one lane, with an 11-foot width restriction in place. Temporary traffic signals will direct motorists through the work zone.
If the weather cooperates, pavement repairs are scheduled this week elsewhere in Howard County. They include a project along Route 5 from Route D to County Road 336, and Route 124 between Routes 240 and Y. Both projects will have one lane remaining open, with crews flagging traffic through the work zone. Similar repairs are also scheduled along Business Route 63 in Moberly, with lane restrictions in place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Route A and the northern junction with U.S. Route 63. Pavement repairs are also taking place in Cooper County along the entirety of Route BB, between Otterville and Clifton City. Crews will also resurface the roadway, and also apply a new surface to Route PP north of Syracuse.
Bridge inspections are underway along Routes 36 and 63 in Macon County this week. Wednesday morning, crews are scheduled to conduct the inspections of the westbound U.S. 36 bridge over the BNSF Railroad east of Callao, then in the afternoon inspect the bridge east of Macon over the Middle Fork Salt River. The roadway will be reduced to one lane during the inspection, with a 14-foot width restriction in place. Thursday, crews will inspect the bridge in Macon that carries Route 63 over the railroad.
