Saline County experienced a four-percent increase in sales tax collections during April, while use tax collections saw another year-over-year increase.

The monthly totals for April, released Wednesday, May 7 by the Missouri Department of Revenue and Saline County Treasurer Jared Brewer, show $112,781.40 collected during April and remitted to the county earlier this month. In addition to it being a $4200 increase from last year, it’s also a seven-and-a-half percent increase from March’s totals. Similar collections were reported for the economic development and law enforcement taxes.

After an unusually high use tax collection in March, Saline County’s total for April returned to $97,165.87. While nearly 24 percent below last month’s record collection of almost $127,000, the county did experience a year-over-year increase of 20 percent. Year-to-date, Saline County is averaging $99,621.28 per month in use tax collections, and $112,044.02 in sales tax collections.
