Marceline residents and businesses are preparing Main Street USA for visitors eager to celebrate the origins and legacy of Walt Disney.

Members of D23, The Walt Disney Company’s official fan club, will take part in a tour of the city Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17. Marceline City Manager Jesse Wallis says the city is eager to welcome the group back for their first official visit since 2022.

As part of this weekend’s visit, Marceline will celebrate four buildings in the city recently added to the National Registry of Historic Places. Wallis says the public is welcome to attend a plaque ceremony Saturday morning.

The four buildings received their National Registry designation after hearings held earlier this year by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
