Saline County Emergency Management Director Tony Day has announced his retirement from the position after six years of service.
Day, who also served 37 years with the Marshall Fire Department and spent almost ten years as its Chief, says some health issues motivated this decision. He notes that retirement will give him more opportunities to spend time with family and travel.
Day reflected on his time with the EMA office, highlighting the growth its seen during his six years as Director.
He says his time with the Fire Department and Saline County Emergency Management has been rewarding.
Day’s last day will be June 30. Day’s successor, Brad Hinz, will be recognized during the next Saline County Commission meeting.
