Sporting Kansas City is morning the death of a former player.
Israeli midfielder Gadi Kinda died Tuesday, May 20, 2025, after being hospitalized earlier this month, according to a statement from his current club, Maccabi Haifa. Kinda spent four years with Sporting KC, first on loan from Beitar Jerusalem, and then as a permanent member of the MLS franchise. During his four seasons in KC, Kinda made 64 appearances, scoring 14 goals and 16 assists. He had missed the 2022 season because of a knee injury, but was back to form in 2023, recording a goal and two assists in Sporting’s upset playoff series win over top-seeded St Louis City SC.
Kinda returned to Israel in 2024 to continue his playing career with Maccabi Haifa. He is survived by his wife Liran and two daughters.
