The Harrisburg Bulldogs wrapped up two days of golf in New Bloomfield by claiming a third place trophy in the MSHSAA Class One Boys State Tournament.

Harrisburg totaled 702 shots after two rounds at the Meadow Lakes Acres Country Club, finishing 31 behind state champions Lockwood and 29 behind conference foes Eugene. Aiden Grindstaff led the way for Harrisburg with a 165, good for 12th individually, while Bryce Ott shot a 173 to finish 27th. Gallatin’s Brody Bird won the individual title, shooting a 154. Marceline’s Lance O’Dell ranked seventh with a 162, while Kaden Gallup of St Paul Lutheran tied for 15th with a 167.

Meanwhile, Spencer Godwin was right at home at the Class Two tournament in Sedalia, as the Cole Camp Bluebird finished fourth individually with a 156, five strokes behind state champion, Fatima freshman Ty Brandt. Hagan Ritter of Macon placed seventh with a 158. The Clarence Cannon Conference claimed the top two team spots, with Palmyra securing a one-stroke victory over South Shelby for the state title.

Boonville finished seventh at the Class Three tournament in Joplin. Brooks Poulsen led the Pirates with a 160, ranking 25th individually. Eldon and Dexter tied atop the team rankings with 613; the state title was awarded to Eldon by virtue of their fifth golfer finishing 12 strokes better, while Dexter’s Fredric Nesselrodt won the individual title with a 133. Summit Christian Academy secured an 18-shot victory for the Class Four title in Bolivar, while SLUH beat Chaminade by eight strokes for the Class Five title in Springfield.
