The Marshall community is celebrating Jim the Wonder Dog’s 100th birthday with a celebration and parade on Saturday, June 7.

Wonder Dog Day will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on the street in front of the Jim the Wonder Dog Garden. Larry Arrowood says this year’s event will include a dog parade in addition to the other contests and prize drawings.

Arrowood says there are plenty of contests participants can enter their dogs into.

The Saline Animal League (SAL) will also be at the event, hosting a challenge course in the garden. Anyone who donates dog food to the SAL will get a free pass to the Doggie Plunge at the Marshall Pool in August.

All dogs must be on a leash during the event. All events are free to the public.
