
A heat advisory will be in effect throughout the KMMO listening area this weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued this heat advisory until 9 p.m. Sunday. Heat index values of up to 106 degrees are expected. Exposure to Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location and call 911 in case of emergency.
The advisory is in effect in the counties of Carroll, Chariton, Cooper, Lafayette, Saline, Howard, Johnson, and Pettis in the KMMO listening area.
