Two people from Nebraska were injured after their dirt bike overturned in a Benton County driveway Saturday, June 21.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that the dirtbike was heading south on Ridgeway Avenue in the Lakeview Heights area east of Warsaw, when at around 9:25 p.m., the bike went off the left side of the roadway south of Roundhouse Avenue. The bike struck a driveway and overturned. A seven-year-old boy on the bike suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Kansas City area hospital. The 27-year-old man driving the bike sustained moderate injuries and declined treatment at the scene. Troopers say the two did not have the appropriate safety gear on at the time of the crash.
