A pair of roadways in Chariton County are scheduled to close this week for pothole patching operations.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will close Route M on Tuesday, June 24 at 7 a.m. to complete the work from the Route Z junction in Triplett to the Carroll County line. The work should wrap up by 3 p.m. today. Crews will then patch potholes on Route Z this Wednesday, also from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., resulting in the road’s closure while the work is ongoing. Also in Chariton County, the Route PP bridge over the Middle Fork of the Chariton River, east of Salisbury, remains closed because of deterioration, ahead of its replacement next month as part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle.
A pavement resurfacing project is underway on Route 179 in Cooper and Moniteau counties. One lane will remain open, and flaggers will use a pilot car to direct motorists through the work zone. The Route 179 bridge over Moniteau Creek remains closed for another month as the rehabilitation project south of Sandy Hook continues. Repairs are also scheduled along Route 87 and Business Route 50 in Moniteau County this week. Resurfacing projects also continue along U.S. Route 65 in Carroll and Livingston counties as well as U.S. Route 36 through Linn County, resulting in lane closures and width restrictions where work is taking place.
Elsewhere, a culvert replacement is underway Tuesday morning in Howard County, with Route 87 closed between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Route E south of Glasgow. Route E will then have a pair of culverts replaced Wednesday and Thursday between Route 87 and County Road 315. However, one lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Motorists are reminded the all work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
