The City of Moberly and the Randolph County Commission have announced the implementation of a joint SWAT team between the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department and Moberly Police Department.
Recently the Moberly City Council and Randolph County Commission unanimously passed a cooperating agreement between both departments to provide support to the team through cooperative staffing and budgetary funding. Moberly Police Chief Bobby Calvert says the joint effort will help both departments overcome staffing or funding issues to protect the citizens in the county.
Calvert says the team will operate with 16 officers with plenty of resources for any situation.
The agreement is in effect for three years.
