Independence Day might still be a week away, but Miami is celebrating the holiday with its Pre-Fourth of July Celebration on Saturday, June 28.

The event will begin Saturday morning with a baking contest at the Miami Community Center at 11 a.m. The celebrations will continue throughout the afternoon as a parade will run down High Street beginning at 4 p.m. Other notable events include a cornhole tournament, face painting, and a chalk drawing contest, all at 4:30.

Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Community Center. Tammy Wilson says there be several meal options to choose from.

Curb side pickup will be available during the meal.

Wilson says the event will wrap up in the evening with a fireworks display and music at the Community Center.
