The Concordia R-2 Board of Education finalized its 2024-2025 budget before approving next year’s budget during its meeting on Wednesday, June 25.

The board had to finalize the the 24-25 budget and approve final transfers to close out the fiscal year, which ends Monday, June 30. Superintendent Theresa Christian says the 2025-2026 budget accomplishes a goal the district has had for several years.

The board then went into approving the 25-26 budget. Christian notes the budget will be updated and amended throughout the fiscal year, but says the district is in a good place financially.

In other news, the board tabled discussion regarding the transportation contract for the 2025-2026 school year. Christian says the board may call for a special session to approve this contract. The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 12.
