A Green Ridge woman was among two people injured when their vehicle was struck by a truck going the wrong way on Interstate 70 late Saturday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a pickup was heading west in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 just past the intersection with I-470. At around 11:10 p.m., the pickup struck an SUV driven by a 57-year-old woman from Green Ridge. The collision resulted in the SUV skidding into the concrete barrier, causing the driver to suffer serious injuries She along with a passenger were taken to a nearby hospital.

No injuries were reported for the pickup’s driver, a 36-year-old man from Kansas City. A separate report from the patrol indicates that the man was arrested on suspicion of felonious driving while intoxicated that resulted in an accident with serious injury.
